So what’s this all about?

This is me, being an open book. It’s a quiet place where I share a bit about myself and what I’m up to. I use it to keep myself accountable, but also help crystalize my thoughts. You can learn what I’m up to, what I’ve read, how the year is going and even take a trip inside the ‘ol noggin!

A little about me…

  • A Family Man: Family First! Proud father to 3 little rascals, 2 maniac dogs and loving husband to a far more capable, beautiful and compassionate woman.
  • Entrepreneur:I hate the word, love the craft! One failed business (mobile car cleaning) and one successful exit (short-term rental management business in the Poconos). In other words, I father humans and businesses!
  • Health-Conscious: I run, I lift, I diet… Sometimes. I go through ebbs and flows with how disciplined I am. Right now I’m doing intermittent fasting and a keto diet to help make less of me!
  • Podcast/AudioBooks: I’m a slow reader so this audiobook and podcast revolution has been quiiite kind to me.
  • Mindfulness and Stoicism: Something I’m always working on, but discovering these topics in my 30’s has probably been one of the most life-changing experiences of my life. And an obligatory shout out to Tim Urban’s post to help kick-start it for me.
  • Scientific: I’m scientific, but not a scientist. I think the Scientific Method is the best model we have to understanding the world around us (unspecific to religion). When better evidence presents itself, change your mind. As Carl Sagan said – “Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence”
  • Sober-ish: I took a ~18 month break from alcohol beginning in 2024 and that really helped redefine my relationship with boozy beverages. I now only drink on occasion, usually if it’s an event or I’m away from the kids. You can learn more about what lead me to that decision here.
  • Golfer: I enjoy hitting the white ball around (but not too many times!) and since selling my business I’ve been able to play a lot more. Probably isn’t the most productive activity in the world but I like the art of learning and getting better, and my golf “journey” has been a fun personal endeavor towards improvement.
